Basically a BALTOMATIC is an enclosure in which any kind of generators or detectors can be mounted. Shielding of enclosures and power supplies are all integrated according to the application to be fulfilled.
These cabinets are generally made of a steel structure with lead reinforcement to assure a proper shielding against radiation outside of the confined area ("sandwich" type assembly : steel-lead-steel).

In general, X-ray technology can be used for all kinds of materials. The quality of what can be seen is just a question of maximum used X-ray voltage and resolution of the imaging sensor. X-ray testing either takes place as mobile version "outdoor" or as stationary version in X-ray cabins or X-ray rooms.
X-ray rooms are massive rooms made from specially shielding concrete (e.g. barite concrete). Access to these rooms is possible through a lead shielded sliding door or alabyrinth. Disadvantage of such rooms is that they require quite a lot of space and the building material is preset.
X-ray cabins are lead shielded enclosures. The walls consist of a steel-lead-steel mixture. The thickness of lead defines the maximum admissible X-ray voltage. Most common cabins are those with a voltage of up to 320 KV. McXray is the entry-level model for X-ray testing. The equipment can easily be transported. Thus, this model is ideal for service provider who wish to take the equipment to the customer for X-ray testing.
The equipment comes with a 160 KV/225 kV X-ray source. Test objects with a height of 600 mm, a diameter of 400 mm and a weight of up to 25 kg max. can be tested.
The ergonomic control panel is touch-capable. This offer already includes image enhancement system Xplus. The Xplus controls the X-ray generator and the flat panel detector represents the image. This flat panel detector has an active surface of 13 * 13 cm and a pixel size of 127 µm.
The object can be moved in any direction with two joysticks; the object's movement continuously being displayed on the screen.
The XRH 222 is designed for every-day testing (24/7). It can be used both for sampling and programmed serial testing.
Image enhancement system Xplus is the heart of this equipment. This software controls image capturing, image representation and management of the entire CNC process.
The equipment is available with 160 to 225 KV X-ray voltage. 320 KV and 450 KV can optionally be offered.Resolution, range of contrast and testing speed are the determining parameters for the selection.
The XRH 222 T is designed for 24/7 testing and will be used for semi automatic testing of pipes and pipelike objects.
The tested objects may have a total weight of up to 200 kg. Up to 5 objects can be simultaneously scanned during one testing process. The minimum distance between the objects is 5cm which allows the system to identify the object limits automatically. The system can be run with 160 to 225 KV testing voltage; 320 and 450 KV is available on request.
Any current image source can be incorporated. The testing requirements such as resolution, range of contrast and testing speed are the decisive parameters for selecting the image source.
A serial number for each particular object is scanned at the scanning station which is near to the cabin. This number stores information on the whole testing process as well as individual standstill images. The interpretation of the images is done while the pipe is moving; at the same time, noise reducing and contrast improving filters can be enabled in the Xplus.
The XRH 433-C consists of a C arm system and an object manipulating system. The equipment offers a repeatability of < 50µm. Fitted with a micro focus X-ray source and a 40*30 cm flat panel detector, this equipment is suitable to analyse even smallest structures in the object. .The distance between X-ray source and detector (FDD) is freely adjustable between 60 and 200 cm. The object holder is able to manipulate the object in 4 axes (X, Y, pivoting and rotating). On site, the equipment is installed in an X-ray room. Equipment operation is done via operator console with two monitors. The equipment is available with a standard industrial X-ray source of up to 450 KV or a micro focus source. The flat panel detector can also freely be selected.
This system is THE alternative for large and heavy objects. The object manipulator is able to carry up to several hundreds of kilograms. Different flange plates with fixation possibilities are available for holding the object. Thus, object-specific brackets can easily be adapted.
Two separate towers manipulate the X-ray source and the flat panel detector. The centre of the X-ray beam and the flat panel detector are always modified synchronously. The X-ray beam is always 90° to the surface of the flat panel detector. This arrangement simulates a C arm. The distances X-ray source to object and X-ray source to detector are freely adjustable.
An ideal equipment for large, heavy objects. The floor area is free for any transport mechanism and fixations.
Manipulating the X-ray technology is done via gantry. The distance between X-ray source and detector is freely adjustable. The height above ground is also variable. The gantry can be pivoted by +/-10° (optional +/-30°) for enabling diagonal radiation.
This equipment is a freely scalable system for serial testing of mass production objects. A combined loading and unloading position with monitored object placement guarantees maximum process security. The objects are placed on RFID coded pallets and supplied to the X-ray cabin.
The X-ray cabin is fitted with fully automatic sliding doors. A manipulator lifts the pallet and approaches all programmed positions. During testing any kind of measuring job will be realised.
Apart from typical cavity inclusion and detection, measurements and completeness checks can be performed. For each object all NOK images are stored (RFID). When unloading the object these images can be viewed once again, if required. Thus, error images can exactly be assigned to the objects. The equipment's concept can be customised to any pallet and object size. The equipment is available with a standard industrial X-ray source of up to 225 KV.
The XRH MT has been designed for inspecting longitudinal and circumferential welds of endless tubes.
Three lines of tubes can simultaneously be fed through the system. The X-ray equipment is installed on a multi-axes manipulator. The multi-axes manipulator moves along the tube to reach the dedicated position of the circumferential weld. Here, the radiographic angle can be modified by +/- 5 degrees for enabling elliptical radiography.
The whole X-ray equipment is able to revolve around the tube by +/- 120 degrees, thus obtaining a conforming to standards arrangement for image acquisition. A 225HP11 source with a high resolution detector is the heart of the X-ray system, fulfilling the test category B even for thin-walled tubes.
The XRH RobotStar is a fully automatic X-ray system for inspecting aluminium cast parts. The patented innovative concept enables fully automatic X-ray inspection with extremely low cycle times. The XRH RobotStar minimises the product changing time to a minimum thanks to the use of a star-type stand coming in three parts. Thus, three processes, Loading, Inspecting and Unloading can be performed in parallel. The XRHTube is a specialized system for high resolution double-wall weld inspection of titanium pipes. The system is designed and approved by the demanding standards of the aerospace industry and allowes our customer to switch from film to Digital Radiography (DR) through DICONDE.
The X-ray setup combines a 150kV micro-focus tube with a high-accuracy live detector to inspect wall thicknesses down to 1.6 mm.
